Brussels, Belgium is the headquarters of the European Union and NATO. One would think this political powerhouse city would be full of boring government buildings. It was surprisingly a quaint, cobblestoned city with plenty to offer tourists and those traveling with kids. I randomly looked for day trips from Paris during our visit in Oct. 2009 and came across Brussels. A visit to another country was tempting and appealing to us. Plus, we couldn’t resist chocolates, cartoons and a peeing boy statue.
