This hotel had an excellent location without paying the exorbitant prices of its neighbors (Westin, Hilton and Pan Pacific).  Its proximity to the Whistler lifts was the main reason we booked this hotel.  It really was only a 2 minute walk to the lifts and the pathway to Blackcomb and the shuttle buses was a 5 minute walk.

We were pleasantly surprised that its ground floor housed the Old Spaghetti Factory, Starbucks and a variety of souvenir and clothing stores.  It really was in the heart of Whistler village.  The Starbucks back door was accessible from the lobby and there was a Rics’ Steakhouse on the lobby too.

It was a simple, traditional room.  There was a big unit that housed the TV, mini-bar area and the mini-refrigerator.  The closet was pretty roomy.  Our view of the lifts and the mountain was great.  The room and the bathroom were clean and well-maintained. Free wi-fi was available and parking is free at an underground location accessible through an elevator.  All the service staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

We didn’t stay here but one of my friends did and we spent some time hanging out in her room.  The location was great and centrally located as well and within a couple of minutes to the Whistler ski lifts.  It was right across from the grocery store and a big quad.

The room was spacious with a fully equipped kitchen with pots, pans, and utensils.  There was a fold-out couch in the small living room area next to a queen sized bed. There was also a loft with a double and twin beds.   The lobby had a rental shop and there were a couple of computer terminals.  There wasn’t any security on the elevator as we were able to just go up to her room.   You did need the key though to get out of the other floors for the stairs.  She and her family were happy with her room and it was big enough for her family of six.

Here are a couple of other sites to book condos and studios directly with owners.  These furnished condos and studios with fully-equipped kitchens are great for saving money with food for traveling groups.  There were a couple of grocery stores in the village to help with the cooking or heating up food items.

Allura Direct –  We used them to book a Whistler studio before and had a very smooth transaction and experience.
