Whistler was such a great pedestrian friendly village that it was hard not to walk around the main stroll and window shop or wander in through the varied stores. They had a fair amount of shops selling souvenir items and winter gear but also mainstream and unique stores. Here are just a few of the 200 shops in the village:
Roots Canada – This Canadian brand has been around for years and known for their good quality clothing especially t-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies. This particular store had a very good layout and was spacious. They had a varied selection of adult clothes. The kids’ section was very small with mostly souvenir Whistler t-shirts. We got some kid shirts for less than $10 due to their extra 20% sale. It was located on the same building as Old Spaghetti Factory under the Crystal Lodge. My friends and I loved their recyclable bags they used for your purchased items which came in bright colors. I’ve been using an orange one as a lunch bag and it’s so handy and durable. Online shopping is available here and sometimes it’s FREE shipping to the USA too.

Cows – This ice cream shop with cow inspired clothing and other items was a few store fronts from PleaseMum . It was hard to miss it with a big cow statue outside its door. It was a big hit for picture taking with the kids. Inside was supposed to be one of Canada’s best ice creams. I wish we had tried it but it was just too cold for ice cream for us despite the sweet aromas that beckoned us. They always seemed to have a line for ice cream though even late at night. They had various colorful and cute shirts featuring cows in pop culture. The kids’ favorites were cows as Hannah Moontana, Elmoo, Super Moorio, GI Cow and the Diary of a Wimpy Cow.

LuluLemon Athletica – The Canadian-based athletic and yoga apparel store had a prominent location in the village underneath the Crystal Lodge. They offered some classes for Free at night such as yoga and on one weekend night we were there, it was a ‘Lose the Belly Fat’ class that started at 8:30 PM. It was a pretty spacious store. There was a couch and play area for the little ones in the middle of the store. FREE Shipping (5-7 Business days) for Canada and USA customers on their website.

The North Face store – This was a huge store that carried a pretty extensive collection of North Face wear and gear located in the ground floor of Deer Lodge. Contact: 604.932.4193 Address: Deer Lodge – 4230 Gate WayWhistler, BC
Quicksilver Store – It was a small store but packed with a pretty good selection of clothing including Roxy brand items for the girls. It was located on the Crystal Lodge ground floor a few store fronts from Roots. Contact: 604.938.7713 Address: Crystal Lodge – 4154 Village Green Whistler, BC
Columbia Kids Store – This was located in the Blackcomb Daylodge facing the Blackcomb mountain and lifts right by the stairs leading to the rentals. It was a very small store but worth looking into. Contact: 604.938.7737 Address: 4553 Blackcomb Way Whistler, BC
Roots 73 Outlet Store – Okay, so this is not in Whistler Village but for bargain hunters this outlet store needed a special mention. Our GPS took us on a different route to go back to the US border bypassing the downtown Vancouver streets. We exited Boundary Road and saw this store before hitting the lights. It didn’t take a lot of convincing for my husband to do a detour. We made a quick 30 minute stop due to time constraints. This was a pretty big store with a lot of great selections. The cashier told us this was the biggest Roots outlet store in British Columbia.
The kids’ sections were pretty extensive with a lot of variety including infant and toddler clothing. We walked away with kids’ shirts between $5 – $10. The adult Roots shirts (which were pretty thick) were less than $10. They took off an extra 20% their already low prices. It was too bad we only brought two carry-ons on this trip! We’re definitely stopping by this store on future Vancouver trips.
